About Us
My name is Buzz, and I started Walk in the Light Solar because I kept seeing the same problem: RV owners investing in solar and getting systems that couldn’t handle real life on the road.
I’m an RVTAA certified solar installer based in the Texas Hill Country, with specialized training in Victron Energy systems. Before solar, I spent time as a software developer, a cabinet builder, and a remodeler — which means I bring a craftsman’s eye to every install. Clean wire runs, solid component mounting, thoughtful system design. The kind of work you’d be proud to show someone.
I own a 26-foot travel trailer and get it out as often as life allows — usually once a month. I haven’t done serious boondocking yet, but it’s exactly where I’m headed. The whole reason I got into solar is because I want that kind of freedom for myself someday — to park wherever I want, for as long as I want, without hunting for hookups. That personal goal is part of why I take this work seriously. I’m designing systems I’d want on my own rig.
I specialize in Victron-based solar systems for full-time RVers, serious boondockers, and off-grid builds. I work with customers in the San Antonio area and beyond and provide consulting and system design for clients across south-central Texas.
Walk in the Light Solar is a one-person operation, which means when you hire us, you get me — not a crew of subcontractors. I handle the design, the install, and the follow-up. I’ll answer your questions before, during, and after the job because a system that works right is worth more to me than a fast turnaround.
The name is personal. Our name and our logo were inspired by Isaiah 60. I do this work because I believe in doing things with integrity, honest effort, and care for the people I serve. That’s not marketing language — it’s how I try to show up every day.
